She's getting there...but more on that next post
For now I'll start with a "perceived" performance upgrade, The HN comes with a fairly standard coil, HT lead and plug cap. However the "normal" plug cap has a large chromed steel sheath over it, which is to help reduce radio interference / pollution and increase RM resistance.
This metal + electricity thing doesn't sound like such a hot idea for riding in many weathers and other riders have had experience of the bike shorting out in the wet, not for me.
So many riders have changed their plug cap to an NGK or similar, That was an option but I firmly believe in the ethos of "if you're going to change it, change all of it!"
So onto ebay I found a "150cc 200cc engine High power" coil lead and cap in orange. for £15 delivered from hong kong, it took two weeks to arrive but it did arrive, eventually...
When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised at how orange it is:

And I was even more surprised to see it came with a "Splitfire" plug cap which a cursory google comes up with this being a good thing.

so anyway to fitting: the cap comes seperated from the lead but all that needed to be done is to insert the lead into the cap and screw (there is a little screw located inside the cap that taps into the lead)
Once that was done I removed the stock coil from the mount on the bike, the right hand of the coil has a spade connector connecting to the coil directly and an earthing electrode that mounts onto the coil with the mounting bolt:

then i bolted the new coil on and attached the connectors as they were before:

Then run the cable to the plug with the little mount on the carb and make sure the lead isn't resting on the head of the engine! (like mine is in the photo)

and done! all in all a 10 minute job and the bike started on first touch of the button
Following a quick 20mile jaunt the bike did "feel" smoother but it could be subjective, obviously it can't be worse than the stock one, and it's orange, so it must be faster.
